The Student Union of Latvia has developed a student housing guide to help incoming international students find a suitable and comfortable place to live when starting their studies in Riga. In consultation with international students, it was concluded that moving to a new city can be a great challenge if the possibilities of local housing and the procedures for obtaining it are not known. The purpose of this guide is to provide clear and accessible information on different housing choices, including dormitories, apartments and shared accommodation. Become ESU delegate at 86th Board meeting!
The Student Union of Latvia (LSA) announces the application for the position of the LSA representative at the 86th Board Meeting (BM) of the European Students’ Union (ESU), which will take place from May 6th to 12th in Geneva, Switzerland. The main focus of the BM is to participate in the decision-making process of several internal regulations and other binding documents, as well as to use the opportunity to participate in informative lectures and master classes. The Student Union of Latvia has created a survey on the 20-hour work limit for non-European undergrad students to understand the situation on living conditions and overall study experience in Latvia. This survey is being conducted to determine the impact of the Immigration Law, which imposes a 20-hour work limitation on non-European international undergrad students in the Republic of Latvia (Imigrācijas likuma 9. panta 51 daļa – Immigration Law, Section 9 (51). LSA Council approves the BOM Resolution on “Students at risk: integration of Ukrainian students”
On September 23rd the Student Union of Latvia (LSA) held its Council meeting where the Baltic Organizational Meetings (BOM) developed a resolution “Students at risk: integration of Ukrainian students” was unanimously approved, indicating the necessary support mechanisms for strengthening integration in the societies of the Baltic countries, along with the higher education system.
